Event Grant Program Details

HBA support may be in-kind and/or monetary. In kind support may include but not be limited to social media and digital promotion; table, chair, and tent loan; and day of assistance. Grant funding of up to $15,000 based on scope, concept, and engagement opportunity is the sole discretion of the HBA and subject to a contractual agreement.

Please note we want to help enhance new concepts and supplement existing events, but we are unable to sponsor an entire event or activation through this grant. Other streams of revenue may be important to the success of the event.

We require that the proposed events enhance the Hoboken Experience. We want to find new ways to bring more people into Hoboken and support events that highlight Hoboken’s local community. Some examples of event categories include live music, art, fitness, food, fashion, etc.

Events that are free, inclusive, large-scale, and unexpected will be given priority. We also give preference to events that utilize Hoboken businesses as partners. Our goal is to increase repeat visits, extend the length of stay in Hoboken, and promote community well-being.

Remember – at least a portion of your event/activation must take place in a public space or be highly visible. Hoboken public space includes parks, plazas, streets, alleys, riverfront spaces, and sidewalks. Events inside of cultural spaces and public institutions, or within publicly accessible storefronts and locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Events must adhere to permits required by The City of Hoboken and be approved through the City of Hoboken event process.
