Innovative Grant Initiative to Support Local Events and Drive Cultural and Economic Vibrancy in Hoboken through June 2025
HOBOKEN, NJ (July 24, 2024) – The Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA), a special improvement district, today announced the launch of the Hoboken Business Alliance Event Grant Program, an initiative designed to support new and existing events that drive foot traffic to local businesses, utilize public spaces, and enhance the cultural landscape and offerings of Hoboken. This grant program is one of the key components of the HBA’s Strategic Plan, which focuses on fostering community and advancing economic development.
The Event Grant Program will provide financial support to event producers and groups who wish to create unique and engaging events within the City of Hoboken. The program targets events that leverage public, outdoor, or other highly visible spaces, highlight the local community, and offer distinctive cultural experiences. Eligible events must take place before June 30, 2025, and will be evaluated based on their proposed economic and cultural impact, the degree to which they demonstrate collaboration and partnership among Hoboken businesses and organizations, their innovation and uniqueness, and their overall accessibility to the public.
“This grant program is an exciting opportunity for community and event organizers to bring innovative and culturally enriching experiences to Hoboken,” said Roxanne Earley, Executive Director of the Hoboken Business Alliance. “By supporting events that utilize our city’s unique public spaces, we aim to enhance the vibrancy of our community, bring visitors to Mile Square City, and drive economic growth for local businesses.”
As part of the HBA’s Strategic Plan, the Event Grant Program aligns with the organization’s broader goals of improving Hoboken’s business landscape and public realm. The Strategic Plan, developed with input from business owners, community leaders, government officials, and residents, outlines actionable steps to elevate and advance Hoboken’s physical and business environments.
The Hoboken Business Alliance Event Grant Program is an attestation to the HBA’s commitment to creating a thriving business community and enhancing the quality of life in Hoboken.
